It’s Great To Be A Kid At The Annual
Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival
Norwalk, CT (August xx, 2014) - - School will soon be here, but summertime fun isn’t over yet for kids during the 37th annual Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival held this year from Friday, September 5 through Sunday, September 7. Kids of all ages get to clown around, discover treasures, and have some good old-fashioned family fun at this annual end-of-summer event held in Norwalk, Connecticut. Sunday is Family Day with special children’s packages and prices for entrance, rides and food. Presenting sponsor for the fourth consecutive year is First County Bank.
There are a wide variety of entertainment choices, rides and attractions for even the youngest of visitors. The always-popular Kids’ Cove promises to be the largest ever with rides, games, and this year featuring the Chevy Big Top circus tent. There will be performances all weekend long with highlights being a circus in the great American tradition by Center Ring Productions (www.centerringpro.com) featuring quick change artists from the Moscow Circus, a dog show, a Wild West performer, acrobats and clowns. Other entertainers include a storyteller and the Backyard Circus with a puppet parade. On Sunday at 2:30pm, a special Fantasy and Fairy Tale Circus will be held with favorite fairy tale characters, princesses and pirates along with face painting and photo opportunities with the characters.
Make sure to include a visit to the Pirates Coast Adventure to your list of things to do where you can share a song or two with pirates, hear some tales from the sea, and join in on pirate activities. And take in the STIHL Paul Bunyan shows (www.lumberjackent.com) with logrolling, chopping and tree carving.
The Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival is held at Veteran’s Park, adjacent to Norwalk Harbor on Seaview Avenue in Norwalk, CT. Admission for adults is $10 on Friday, $12 on Saturday and Sunday. Children 5 - 12 years old are $5.00. Children under the age of 5 are admitted free of charge. On Sunday, Family Day, children under 12 are free with a paid adult, there is a special price for unlimited rides ,11 a.m. - 2 p.m., and kids' specials at many food booths.
